Local debates
Each partner held local debates on EU issues, specifically on food production, digitalization, green economy and social inclusion. The inputs from local debates were presented on meetings as a part of national contributions to the EU issues.
Our European Smart, Green & Innovative Future
Declaration of cooperation
Declaration of cooperation „Our European Smart, Green & Innovative Future“ is a result of a project Small Town European Debates Network co-funded by the Europe for Citizens Programme of the European Union.
With this Declaration European network of small cities is formed.
Project partners recognize the principles of this Declaration as guidelines for further development:
1. Digital solutions increase educational opportunities for the rural population and can boost local economy.
2. Digitalisation is reducing barriers to public services and ensuring they are accessible to citizens.
3. Short food supply chains allows consumers to have greater control over the origin of products from farm to table and, at the same time, to contribute actively to strengthen local food networks.
4. For the success of public policies regarding social and solidarity economy, the most important thing is cooperation between different stakeholders.
5. Youth work needs to be value based and respond to the needs, interests, ideas and experiences of young people.
6. Youth work at local level requires a systematic approach.
